Sounds a bit like Christopher Walken, in everything he's ever done. Just watched Hard Eight I'm gonna seriously have to find some movies I don't like because as with almost everything else I've seen in a while, I love this. I should maybe watch Beverly Hills Cop 3 tonight, just to balance things up a bit. |

Saw the Master in 77 mm in the East Village. It was great.

I felt that way with TWBB but after watching it a couple of times it grew to be my fav. film. The wait goes on for it to be released over here.

Yes, the file I got was a photocopy of typewritten pages, so I'd guess it was an early draft.
Page after page of "What the fuck?" Dude flees for some reason. Ends up on a ship. Some religious leader on the ship seduces him. After 40 pages or so, that's all I understood. The whos and whys and hows were absent, so it read like a half-remembered dream. I'm not criticizing by the way. Pulling something big like a script out of the brain takes experiments and many drafts. If I can find the file, I'll be happy to share. Stay tuned. |

Jim Jarmusch has never made a film haven't absolutely adored, he probably never will. I watched Winter's Bone just before this, and I can tell right away there is a total juxtaposition between the two, Winter's Bone was nice but there nothing really unique about how it's shot and how its laid out, with The Limits of Control, whatever Jarmusch's vision is, and how he shoots his films, captivates my senses for every second I'm watching, with every shot. I point in this I was like "Jim you rule my life." This is what making film is all about, give your own unique flavour and feel. Beautiful. The sound.. BORIS and Sunn O))) & Boris material is icing on the cake. Isaach De Bankolé kills the lead role! Give this man more leads! Tai chi, great suits, and his quiet demeanour, the guy is awesome. The great character after great character stops by to say hello, I didn't want this to end! I really enjoyed Tilda Swinton's character, she had me mesmerized. And John Hurt! JOHN HURT! Fantastic film! |

Well thank you very much. hmmm... I think first and foremost it has to be the combination of both Down By Law and Stranger Than Paradise, along with Dead Man. Even toss Broken Flowers in the mix, I really enjoyed that one. I've been meaning to rewatch that. Haven't seen Mystery Train and Night On Earth, must buy the Criterion Blu-rays asap. |

I'm sorry, this fuckstastic phone doesnt really do pictures.
Last Days Here - story of Bobby Liebling, lead singer of Pantagram Wow... Hits So Hard - story if Patty Schemel, drummer of hole. I think that I'd really like to be friends with Patty. She's my kind of person. Did you know that Hole fans are either gay or angry females with life-issues? C-Hole said so. |

Alright.
Found a pdf for an early draft of THE MASTER (entitled UNTITLED SCIENTOLOGY PROJECT or something like that). PM me your e-mail and I'll send it off. |

There Will Be Blood I like the first couple of thirds of this film a lot but it just becomes a bit ridiculous towards the end, as DD Lewis starts to slowly turn into Klaus Kinski in a Herzog movie. It's like Boogie Nights with Alfred Milona in every scene. Those kinds of performances work best for me in brief bursts rather than dominating an entire film. It's the same problem Scorsese had casting Lewis in Gangs of New York. It all just becomes a vehicle for him to show off his acting chops. Definitely my least favourite PT Anderson film so far - given that I've not yet seen The Master. |

Interesting to know what you think of those. Bunuel is one of those directors I have masses of respect for but tend to find most of his actual films a bit hard going and, if truth be told, slightly disappointing. One of those 'great' directors I just can't seem to get into. It's especially frustrating because I really do want to like his movies. |
