Since we're playing this game . . .
KISS ME DEADLY (1955) -- One of my favorite noirs. Worth it for the explosive ending alone. |

I really must rewatch that. I saw it again recently and was surprised that I couldn't get into it but I'm convinced I just wasn't in the right mood. Too much about it makes it irrational that I should suddenly not like it. Although I'll always prefer the sheer simplicity of Detour.

Shocking to admit but I've never actually seen that. I've always overlooked it because I always thought it was made in the 'wrong' era for a noir. Stupid I know. |

Bande à part I'm starting to think I prefer movies that've been influenced by Godard far more than I do his own films. |

I just saw this, and it was great. Does anyone know if this is an official promo or just fan art? |

It looks like fan art to me. I wanna see Skyfall. Fingers crossed I'll enjoy it more than I did Quantum of Solace.

I saw Skyfall, it was ok, but I don't really like Bond films very much.

I cant wait for skyfall. I really dug quantum of solace, even though people were down on it.

Yeah, I'm not sure how or why, but QOS really did not do a damn thing for me. I can't even remember what it was about. I'm still dying to see Skyfall, but having forgotten half the of the story so far. I remember some explosions, some extreme walking, a machine gun, the word revenge, and some sand, plus a marketing campaign that probably raised my expectations too high. I loved Casino Royale because it was shockingly dark for Bond, and my expectations were low going in. I had completely given up on Bond and Casino was like a Chris Nolan reboot. Quantum was no Dark knight though. |

Tell me, folks who saw Skyfall: will I need to remember Quantum to "get" Skyfall? Should I rewatch it with an open and sober mind, or should I just go and enjoy some explosions again?

It's that very darkness that I really don't like about the Daniel Craig movies. Not saying they should revert back to the all out comedy of the Roger Moore era but I do think they've lost quite a lot of their sense of fun in the last couple of movies. |

I only really liked Cronenberg when he was making his low budget horror movies. I haven't seen a lot of his more recent stuff but if you're saying Cosmopolis is an improvement on those, I'll definitely steer clear. |
