I saw Prometheus recently as well, I never caught it in theaters because it seemed so divisive with fans. Having seen it now I can understand how some could love it, and some could hate it for what it is. I certainly don't want to give anything away, all the online movie people I check out were purposely vague about how this movie connects with the "Alien" series, so I feel like I should respect that for those who haven't seen it.

Promethueus made no sense.
Or I'm stupid. Who was the guy at the beginning? Was that Earth? Why did the spacecraft leave a poison on the side of a cliff? Or did it? What the fuck?? Already I was lost. After a while I forgot about the "plot" and just wanted to see monsters eat up humans. That self-surgery scene was fucking awesome, however. |

I believe the idea was that these scientists believed that the origin of man was extra-terristial. The alien in the beginning was a Titan, like Prometheus, who sacrificed himself for the creation of humans. |

I enjoyed the look of it but the way the "scientists" behaved was not up to r. Scott's usual diligence. No way does any educated person, much less a scientist, takes off a helmet in an alien environment, regardless of oxygen levels.

Yeah, I looked at the clock about half way in and thought, I'm enjoying this but does it really need another 50 odd minutes? A lot of it definitely felt like padding. |

The scene where the woman in the hospital screams scared the living shit out of me when I saw it as a kid. (I'm thinking about the right film I hope.) |

Watched these over the past couple of days
Mad Max Brilliant! Can't wait for Fury Road. Hobo With a Shotgun Good fun homage to the kinds of 80s exploitation action movies I used to be so addicted to as a teen. Bad Ass This is great. I've been hoping for a 'new Charles Bronson' for ages and Danny Trejo seems to fit the bill perfectly. |
