Ha! They remind me of my cousin's kids. Almost the same ages. Quinn, the older sister, and Rhys, the younger brother.
Four year old boys are the coolest to hang out with. |

I'll take some time to read through the thread. But in the meantime: it must be scary to think that your little girl is interested in boys!
Is Evan 4? Why has it never registered with me that he's the same age as Kitty? She was 4 in January and she had a great party. I'll post some pictures when I get the chance, but for now I can tell you that Kitty and Seth are both doing well. I'm off work all this week, so we're doing lots of stuff together. Yesterday we went to the park and played Pooh sticks for the first time (corny I know). Seth is walking now, but still isn't saying any words (Kitty was saying loads by his age!). Kitty is such a lovely girl, and is becoming really good company, by which I mean you can have conversations with her! She's really getting interested in space at the moment. Watching a quiz show recently, she amazed her mother by very matter-of-factly answering the question, What is the biggest planet in the solar system? |

Kids are a lot of work. But they grow and go away, and then you can enjoy yourself again, so it's not like it's forever. Still if you're not willing to work really hard and feel totally unappreciated for everything you do for them, I can't blame you.
Dogs are easier.

I've considered that but after a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that, no, that is not the case.
Maybe they're just shit kids?

pookie your kids are so damn cute
however, i thank god i'm not a sonic parent, because i'm not, as gmku said, cool with sacrificing all my free time and feeling totally unappreciated by them. and i don't like dogs either. the cats will just have to do.

So I guess I'm the only Grandad on the board?
My baby boy turned 30 last month! His babies are Oliver (18 months) and Sofia (3 months)

I just joined this list last Saturday with my son, who is currently (already) in the hospital fighting an infection. It was apparently a very big deal, but he, and the scads of anti-biotics, seems to have beaten it.
I also have a genetic daughter of ten, who was adopted by a family in an open adoption, who I get to see. She was going to meet my son tomorrow, until the infection thing went down. Sad, because tomorrow is my mom's birthday, and she was very excited for them to meet. |

Congratulations! And I'm glad to hear that your son is winning the battle with the infection.

cute!
i have been recently informed that i'm going to be a sonic sibling in the fall (and a sonic step-sibling in april) this is going to be weird being almost 19 years older than this kid. word of advice: don't have kids when you're 40. please. the generation gap will be overbearing.

i'd argue the opposite-- work out your fucked up neuroses in your 20s and wait until your 30s or 40s to have kids. that way you won't take your shit out on the poor bastards. there's a reason why grandparents are cooler than parents-- they are not burdened by utter ignorance of life. they are comfortable in their own skin. they don't give a fuck about small shit. i had less "generation gap" with my great grandmother than with my parents. she was funny as fuck & told awesome ghost stories. the parents on the other hand were too nervous trying to look good & make it in life. annoying. on that note-- my cousin who was raised by my great grandma turned up to be the coolest, sanest and most successful and happy of the rest of us. true story. |
