Right now I'm eating Betsy's hot spicy cocktail nuts.
In about 20 mins the doorbell will ring and it'll be the guy from the italian restaurant on the scooter with a portion of pasta penne al pesto, lasagna with 4 types of cheese and napolitana saus, and half a loaf of freshly baked bread.

Pesto penne rocks. I used to make that where I worked. The best pasta ever, though, is farfalle in spicy bell pepper sauce. I don't remember what the sauce is called. I'm so hungry now.

Burgers with a side of garlic roasted potato wedges and a fat bowl of weed for dessert.

Supper tonight is a glass of milk, and some pitta bread with salad.

Certainly they do. People who eat supper do, anyway!

Not in America. Only old people and people who watch Little House on the Prairie too much.
Which would be "at all." |

Dinner is steak. Supper is having a bowl of soup because you can't stomach a full dinner.

Supper is what you have before retiring to bed. Anything from a biscuit to a small meal, generally. Almost any kind of salad-based situation makes a splendid supper, I feel. Where cheese is involved, lashings of chutney is ideal.

So dinner is supper (serious meal) and supper is just a snack?

Dinner is a proper meal, tea is a light one, taken anytime from approximately 5pm - 7pm (the main meal of the day). Supper is partaken of late at night. It may be a snack, a small meal, or anything in between.
I rather sense that cultural differences are at work here. Soup for supper would be a ghastly faux pas; soup should only be enjoyed for lunch or as a starter at dinner. I'm rather partial to cream of asparagus, personally.

Yes, so it would seem. I'm only familiar with breakfast, lunch (sometimes dinner), supper, and various other, spastic food orgies anywhere between breakfast and breakfast the next day.

Depends who you are, and where you're from, doesn't it? I've been mocked for using the word 'lunch' instead of 'dinner' by certain types. Tschh - bunch of savages in my town.

In America, officially, we have "breakfast" in the morning, "lunch" around noon, and "dinner" around 5-6 PM. Technically, though, each day is just one big meal.
