I want to see this, but I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed by it like I was disappointed by Synecdoche, New York and Where The Wild Things Are and other cool-weird in theory, boring-weird in execution films. |

children of men. it was better in my memory but not bad.
OJ Made in America ( im more convinced he didn't kill her but knows exactly what happened because he was there) (this is also essentially a must watch documentary of the history of Los Angeles, seriously its almost like half the film is about OJ the other have contextualizing using the history of Los Angeles) also Fright Night (i dont know why) Man in the Iron Mask (a movie so gay i don't even think Pride parades want to be associated with it) Booty Call which is perfect time capsule of 1990s humor and much to my delight last night Up in Smoke which was as funny as ever

Watched this last night, really great. Draws from Hitchcock, Polanski, and Lynch. |

SCREWBALLS (1983)
A touching film concerning a group of high school guys trying to bang Purity Busch, some stuck up bitch who won't put out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0YkcfPgKNY SCREWBALLS II (1985) (also released as LOOSE SCREWS) In this one, they try to fuck the French teacher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi2Mme4ShIU I can't say which is better. That's like asking which Picasso painting is best. RECRUITS (1986) Some fuck-ups become traffic cops. Hilarity ensues. POLICE ACADEMY, made two years earlier, is obviously a rip-off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNnNvUTug50 I need more of these types of films, preferably from the 80s. Any recommendations? |

two Woody films:
Vicky Christina Barcelona - 9/10 ---- Scarlett Johansson and her characters are attractive but the type of woman you'll have a cool bro/dude "whats up" conversation with a little connection then, go about yr business because you felt she was a little shallow. i drooled over her in Ghost World but then after that i couldn't figure out who i had a crush on more. her or Chloe Sevigny. Sevigny in Kids racked my mind up a little more i think. then she got on her knees in the Brown Bunny. i can get that anywhere.... anyway. and Shadows and Fog - 8/10 loved both. plan on watching Manhattan next though i think I've seen it years ago. haven't seen a Woody film i didn't like but most of those have been the good ones on Starz, HBO, and Showtime. |

I like the way you're thinking. I remember watching Screwballs at some point. I'm down for recommendations in this general area too. There are a lot of "classics" that were overshadowed by Porky's and others. Awful films, all, but fun enough to kill a weekend. |
