What's worse is when they meet friends of mine, then I come up in the conversation and they somehow remember me from a decade ago. It's very strange. Needless to say, they add me on Facebook and we never, ever speak.

All you can really do is honour his memory. If talking to him makes you feel better, then it's a good thing. I'm not sure if he can hear you or not. But if I'm right, then I'm sure he's there for you, and always will be.
