Does anyone know about this? It's a 30 minute short documentary about the demonlover sessions SY did. Directed by Yorick Le Saux.
My guess is it's on another demonlover dvd release as mine hasn't got it. Also mentions Chris Habib. Anyone? |

it's been years since i watched it and i'd have to dig it up from somewhere, but from what i remember it had some small bits of SY jamming in the studio, some interviews where olivier assayas is explaining how he didn't want to use finished music for the movie but wanted the band to compose something after seeing some of the images, some bits with jim o'rourke and assayas discussing the sound for some scene, etc... those kind of things. it's nice to have i suppose, but probably not something you'd watch more than 1-2 times. |

now, this is the best documentary of sonic youth I have seen lately. fucking awesome. thanks for finding link jef and whoever upoloded it. this is great insight into sonic youth "kitchen" baby. ohh, enjoyed watching it! we need more documentaries like that. what's that thing Jim is using? you can see it in part 1 and part 4. you know that thing with lots of knobs, creating sounds. I want that. I'm not wondering that Jim is into film. just look ho he is enjoying it. second would be Lee? I love demonlover sto. movie is allright as well.

The film and the soundtrack are perfect! Assayas had already used SY music for his films (one of my favorite is Irma Vep, where you can listen to some Goo songs).
