I can't choose. Sometimes a quick under the breath "asshole!" is good, sometimes a long drawn out "arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrse hoooooooooooooooooooole!" works better.

It's not a matter of cool spelling or pronounciation like 'sk8ter' or some shit, it's how certain countries spell the actual word. In Australia if you were to spell it 'ass' in an english test, you'd be incorrect.
Obvious? I hope so.

Definitely arse. Except if you're talking about gettin' some, in which case it's ass. But far and away the most correct use is arse.

I say ass when using it in the "Shes got a pert ass" but I use arse when saying arsehole. So now you know.

I live in America.
If I said "arse" I would sound ridiculous. "Ass" is the only option for me. |

In the UK, the fully pronounced "arse" is a word that you would only expect to hear come from the mouths of the upper-middle and upper classes these days. Imagine Prince Charles saying "ass" and then "arse", and see what I mean.
I'm more likely to use the word "bum" myself. |

Without a doubt 'Arse', gotta love the arastrocracy lol...I love wonderfully british expressions (but then again I love the word 'Dude'...best word to ever come out of the US), even though I'm from Cardiff, I'm often told I sound like I'm from Cambridge...I have no idea how that came to be, I've never tryed to affect any accent.
