I'm in and I was high up in the chart last year.
Expect too much self-confidence and a rush to end above the middle of the table. This could be your year. |

Man, just keeping up with the substitutions for the world cup left me drained, and I am running my usual Instigator Fantasy (american) football League this year. Thanks for the invite though!

Thanks Pauly. Russell clued me in earlier in the week and I joined the Liquid league. Boy they sure don't give you a lot of leeway with the team budget. You really need to be sharp with your b & c level players cause you can't afford but 2 or 3 A level players and of course one of them has to be a goalie. After 20 years of NFL fantasy I'm really looking forward to this challenge. My goal is top 10.

Half my team look like they're gonna be wearing Man City shirts by the start of the season.

Gareth Bale's been a great choice, just wish i hadnt taken my team captaincy away from him this week for Steven Ireland
Did any of you see the Scholes interview on Football Focus? It was magnificent, and the funniest thing ive seen in a while

Drogba's saving me. Even when he doesn't score he's a points-machine. Without having him as captain, I'd be nowhere.

I also have Gareth Bale but Malouda is my captain and he didn't hurt me just wish I'd played him there in week 1 as well. The one I'm tossing and turning about is Tevez hopefully he breaks into the scoring column this week. I'm also going to make a move for Walcott dam is he fast.

Tevez is probably my favourite player in the Prem. He'll be OK but probably more likely to have a solid season rather than a spectacular one. Man City are in the process of bedding down a lot of new signings so I expect it'll take time for things to click. It won't happen but I'd love to see Tevez at a team like Everton or back at West Ham, where they could build things around him. The upheavels at Man City could lead to him becoming sidelined, even as their current captain.

Tevez is a retard, he didnt even bother learning some English, hes been over here for 5 years for christ sake. Villa got a great deal with all that money plus Ireland, hes gonna be a good player for them

Fair enough, that is a bit cheeky. Even so, though, you'd be hard pushed to find a fan of any team he's played for that doesn't love him. I'd love to see Tevez back at West Ham, with or without his translator. |

In spite of all the points he'll bring in, I won't get Drogba in my team.
That's my chant... I'll grab you all, once I... I'm currently resisting the desire to throw reasons, highly valuable reasons, for my position in the chart (yeah, it ain't on page one of the liquid league)... I'll grab you all, once I resume my calm and get my mojo back (have I ever told you my father, uncles and aunts knew Michel Platini when the bloke was a kid?)... I'm not dead... |

What got my goat is when I first picked this team of mine I wanted to take Petr Cech as my goalie but they said he was hurt until September so I went with Jose Renia even though I was worried cause he goal allowed total has been climbing up well needless to say I threw that bum to wayside and picked up Joe Hart who I should have grapped a week earlier. I've already burnt a wildcard as I'm building the team on the fly as a rookie owner. I'm certainly enjoying it though. It's certainly not as predictable as NFL fantasy.

I've ended up swapping Reina for Almunia from next week. Reina's the better keeper but I think Almunia's gonna keep more clean sheets, simply because Arsenal are a better team than Liverpool right now.
Malouda (who I ditched Lampard for) and Scholes (who I've brought in to replace Scott Parker) have to be the bargains of the season so far. Walcott was looking like he was too but that injury could have a real impact on his form. |
