An estimated 16 million people in asia share the same Y chromosome who's lineage goes back 1000 years and is thought to be from Genghis Khan.

It sort of makes me feel competitive. 1000 years from now I want to have 32 million male descendents. Anyone want to help me achieve that goal?

Well, remember that Genghis Khan and his progeny didn't command from afar. They traveled with the army. So they had a chance to bring every young girl they found into their yurts as concubines. Plus there was a lot of rape.
Throughout history, not many great leaders were also generals that commanded their armies. All I can think of our Genghis Khan and his descendents, Julius Caesar, Napoleon, and Alexander the Great. Julius Caesar for a Roman I believe was pretty sexually conservative, after all, his successor wasn't even his biological son, and Augustus himself condemned his daughter for her promescuity. Napoleon had a small dick and was crazy over Josephine, despite her complete unfaithfulness and lavish spending. Alexander the Great died pretty quickly. |

That isn't really a fact. It is much more likely that he was bisexual. The greeks didn't really have the same ideas about gay/straight as we do.

it's fun to learn, cause KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
let's create an alternate path for this thread, straight up back to the future 2 style, and everyone post an interesting fact; I'll start... Fact: Aristotle did not come up with the idea of earth being at the center of the universe. Pythagoras did. He believed that everything in the universe (or in the solar system really, since that's all he knew the universe to be) moved on spheres around the earth, and these spheres created music throughout the universe. This same line of thought lead him also to create the musical scale, which we now use to define notes. This scale is so ingrained in our minds that it's hard to think of notes outside of this scale, although some artists, such as Harry Partch, have experimented with these "outside" notes.

I am fascinated with Genghis Khan. I mean, that's some kind of achievement to be born a slave and wind up as king of the world as you know it!
