We're coming to the end of the first decade of the 21st Century. A decade marked by 9/11, the war in Iraq, the first real signs of China's hidden economic might, the iPod, American Idol, etc, etc, etc. But how will it be remembered in decades to come?

I'm sorry but I always hate this kind of question. I don't know what the future will be like so I have nothing to compare this decade to. All I have is my own opinion of this decade, I can't speak for anyone or any time else. History is wholely retrospective. I don't feel like I have enough to speculate.

iPods are big now, but so was the Walkman when it first came out. Something better will come along and they will just be some old piece of junk; that is until they become vintage and tehy sell for $20,000 on eBay.

It will be seen as a the era of stupidity, spiritual re-wakening. The era of America losing its power on a worldwide scale. It will be like its counterpart Mexico, and South America. America will be known for not having quality education. So on so on.

Well, not much of the music will be remembered, because very little of it is memorable.
I'd say the things on 2000-2009 in the history book will be: 9/11, Iraq War, Saddam's execution, Spirit and Opportunity, the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, and the 2000 election. |
