Not online. I've long since ignored the emails from the dating website.
I've semi met people through work in the past.. But my current job really has nothing to offer. My last boyfriend i met through friends at highschool.. So.. Anywhere other than those three, that is not awfully difficult for a social misfit?

A question comes to mind - you're not with your boyfriend anymore?

kind of had enough.
kind of(very) sacred to be alone,(its been 4 yrs) But lately it's just been wearing me down, along with some other health things.. and i don't see it ever really being fixed.. The things that make the relationship difficult. We've talked/fought about the same particulars so many times. I know the conversations by heart. They're almost boring. But i know that they will always happen.. It's just too much to 'accept' now, as being what my life is..

having said that, i don't particularly need to find someone to date long term right now.. I'd just like to start meeting some people who could have the potential to be awesome

Try striking up a conversation at a supermarket? Or a cafe?

Do people really see the workplace as a legitimate place to meet people for sex? After seeing too many stupid situations it just seems like a very bad idea.
You should just resign yourself to spending the rest of your life alone and buy a big TV, a puppy and a big box of tissue to cry yourself to sleep every night. |

I know what you mean. It happened to me with my previous relationship where I jumped straight from it (4 years) to the current one(3,5 and running). My advice - breathe out, take your time and try to enjoy the time by yourself. Grab some money, travel somewhere, do something that you've always dreamt of and that didn't include any other person. It's not the best thing to do to rush things and have the urge to date somebody right away, trust me.

The best advice I ahve ever gotten on this subject is to think abou the kind of places you LOVE to spend time in.
It is in these places that you are likely to find someone with similar interests and a similar frame of mind. These can be anything from libraries, to museums, to record stores, to your favorite park. bars are terrible for anything other than funding a fuck.

Whenever I see people talking too much in a library I'm sickened to my very core. Call me a puritan if you like, but libraries are places for solitary contemplation, reading and - AT MOST - baleful sighing.
I agree with tesla - don't dip your pen in the company ink. I tend to find the key to getting ass is to get a new group of friends. One of them will probably hop on the sex train, or repeat until success.

Well, I am a library Nazi. If I go to the library before 10 it's fine. For some reason, between 10am and about 6pm (later around exam times) there's nothing but fucking cunts talking about how pissed they were at the weekend, listening to music on their phones, looking at 'hilarious' facebook photos. In an academic library! I go to the public library and there's a few old dears talking under their breath, and even then not very often. Young people these days have no library protocol.
Rob: I don't know if you've noticed, but attractive girls aren't into the sort of books I'm into. Maybe you've been browsing the books about handbags section of the library too much?
