the world is a beautiful place but it's ruled by greedy morons, how long before their downfall is instigated?

I reckon they've been operating on borrowed time for far too long as it is.

It doesn't end. It never will. Just enjoy the ride and have another drink.

about a month ago one my friends said to me that when the revolution comes he'll be the first to get there with his pitchfork and burning torch, it made me feel hopeful.
an aside, stop whatever you are listening to and tune into www.rinse.fm right now, n-type is playing bare big tunes, it's A LOT. |

Within our lifetimes, with "our" meaning it's within my life time, and that of the skeptics so I can mock them.

I dont know if I interpreted this thread properly but...
I dont think revolution itself is really what is needed. With revolution there is always a winning side and a losing side. If there were to be a revolution things would change for a period of time and then the "losers" would just revolt against the new "winners" and that would just lead to a slightly ridiculous cycle (but it would create change) somethings needed, but not revolution. |

the losers couldn't revolt against the winners as they will most likely be executed

the man will NEVER be overthrown, because the man is the one who wins revolutions. once the revolutionary wins, he becomes the man.
and even worse-- some of the greatest revolutionaries have turned out to be the biggest totalitarian & murderous scum: robespierre, mao, pol pot, fidel castro, etc. and revolutions are a fucking mess-- blood and guts and little intelligence. they are the political equivalent of diarrhea. |

after the revolution there will be no new centralised government implemented to replace the current power structure, power will be broken down and there will only be smaller local councils who will have significantly less power to weald and thus abuse and be corrupted by. nation states and social classes will be abandoned, wealth will be evenly distributed.
the concept of the man will be extinguished, defeated by the people. |

the world is filled with casually ignorant, brainwashed idiots who swallow and swallow and don't bother to think for themselves. these people are the ones keeping the "greedy morons" in business, and we know they are there, i mean, the daily mail is the second highest selling newspaper in the uk after the sun. revolution will never happen in britain. people are too oblivious, apathetic and brain dead for it to happen.

anyway, i'm all for the idea of revolution, but only out of idealistic principle. i guess i'm just frustrated at how money has become such a dominating factor in who we are, what we do, what we create and how we treat each other. i feel there's no other choice that to join the CPB and be done with it!

ha ha ha ha. good one. then one council decides to invade the other because they aren't getting enough water, assimilate the old land, and decides to keep growing... and the other councils band on a league and elect a king who then raises an army and... i think we've heard that (hi)story already. btw on the subject of less power and abuse in small groups... it only takes a handful of people to create a "lord of the flies" scenario. often the abuse of small groups is kept in check by the large group. (thank god for social workers who can put a stop to abusive and unfit parents.) about social classes-- humans are hierarchical by nature, like many other social animals. people are going to stratify no matter what. all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others-- remember? unless you're joking... i hope you are. |

I don't believe that revolution would benefit society at all, but rather, fixes in the loopholes within the capitalist and economic systems themselves would be ideal. Evidentally the majority of people within are greedy and ignorant, but there are laws that can fix this. We should all encourage the increase of green taxes and taxation for foreign aid. Otherwise, why bother beefing with the greedy and ignorant if you'd want to be amongst them prefering more wealth to yourself? Ah, and poor people that can't afford the taxes? 3rd world countries are much more plentiful with poor than in a 1st world country. It would be more of a help than anything. That or have the taxation increase dependant on income.

obviously i'm daydreaming. anyway, just because power structures would be dismantled it doesn't mean we would see a return tribal culture. modern technology has vanquished such primitive struggles as the quest for plentiful and clean water, and if safeguards are set in place to prevent one person or group from obtaining too much power, a high level of education is mandatory for all and both genders will be equal, the concept of war will consigned to history. |
