Sonic Youth Tortoise Jesus & Mary Chain Metallica Captain Beefheart Motorhead ac/dc Royal Trux Yesterday i spotted this large mountain wearing a Burzum t-shirt. |

Not just a bar but an entire scene with bars, coach trips, football team, bear mass etc. Anything that would get them to shift the pound.

Is bears' expenditure still referred to as the "pink pound"? Or is that only for camp gays?

I don't know. It's only in the past few years that bears have become more and more popular on the gay scene. I think that's because more and more guys are tired of silly, bitchy camp queens, even though fetishizing someone just because of their body size is just as bad.

Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with using those terms, and they have been invented by gays themselves, so there's nothing offensive about them. In my experience bears are just happy to be thought of as that, rather than, erm, fat b......... It gives them the status of sex gods, rather than being thought of as someone who might have a slight eating problem, and therefore a mental one too. I just find it kinda wrong, because i don't like people who define their sex appeal by their own looks alone, but then i find a lot of things wrong in general. |

And it was indeed referred to gay stereotypical types more than anything.

Exactly. I can't count how many times a simple chat with someone lead to the question 'mine or yours?'. You start thinking that a lot of gays are mainly motivated by sex and not much else. I repeat, a lot of gay men, not all of us. |

They are more conscious of being that now, and that's because they seem on demand a lot at the moment. If you have a proliification of gay bars and clubs that are mostly frequented by hairy big types, i assume that you are making quite a point of being known as a bear. |

i think that's just men, not specificly gays. if women had the sex drive of men we'd still be living in caves. |

You're right to an extent, but read Nefeli's post above mine, because it says it better than i did. Sex comes up constantly in a lot of conversations amongst gays, that's a fact. |

Are there a lot of bears around? And how common among gays is a taste for bears?
What I'm asking, I suppose, is does a fat bloke have a better chance of getting his end away as a gay than as a straight guy? |
