Its kinda annoying, but I dont know if its enough to make a fuss about...I ordered a brand new LP from a distributor, and it was delayed because they sold out and had to get more, so it finally arrives, and the top right corner is kinda bent...should I ask for another one? The LP itself is probably alright...and from the front, its just slightly bent, but turn it over and you can see a crease in the sleeve...
the package it came in looks fine, like the postal workers didnt do it...and i got 2 cds with it, so im wondering if that mightve done it, because they just stuck them all in the same package....

Nah, I wouldn't worry about a crease in the corner, as long as it doesn't really mar the cover art. I've purchased plenty a new sealed record whose jackets weren't perfect. It just seems to be something you have to put up with.

But come to think of it, swear-word is right. If it matters to you, it's important. I was just thinking how pissed off I'd be if I was excited about a new record and found it be in less than perfect condition when I took it home. Used is one thing, new another.

yeah, i was just wondering if its common [as in, just something that happens when dealing with mail orders]...it was only $11, so im wondering if its worth it or not, and its brand new and I doubt its in limited release.

bent corners are usually shrinkwrap related. happen even in the best of families...
check the record and see if it's in good condition. once i got this bent scratched new record from a store in ny and the label replaced it-- apparently bad packaging. |

Personally I'd tend to let it go. Even a record store owner might look at you weird if you returned a record for a small crease. I think it's fairly common.
The few mail order LPs I've bought (mostly from Sub Pop) have arrived in better shape in fact than most new records I see in the store. Think about all the people in stores, after all, who are handling those records, from the clerks who put them out to the customers who pick them up and carry them around, etc., before putting them back or whatever.

Im new to LPs...and the few ive gotten on ebay have been in perfect shape...better than the couple Ive gotten in record shops...this is the first brand new one Ive gotten from the label/dist...so I guess its just funny that its in the worst shape. I think Ill open it and check the record itself, and if its alright then Ill just deal with the creased sleeve i guess.

When it comes to used LPs, I'm not ever averse to buying ones with stickers on the covers, if I want the LP badly enough.

Don't worry about it, dude. It's mostly shrink-wrapping problems, and it doesn't affect the record. Lots of shit happens with that, it's no biggie.
Constellation records is good for stuff arriving in good condition, as they don't shrink wrap, they just put them in those bags... (as far as I remember, I'm really out of it haha... at any rate, best label to order from.)

Not that big a deal. Unless you want the perfect "collectible" copy, with the idea of making money off it later, it's not worth bothering about. I see this kind of thing fairly often, and yeah, it means from a collector's standpoint, it's not Mint, but it's also still in great shape overall. Now if the vinyl turns out to be flawed--a lot of noise, warped, etc.--you'd have a good case for a refund or replacement.
I've learned to be less finicky about these things. Was it here, or somewhere, I heard stories of some collector who owns copies of old Dylan records from Jimi Hendrix's own collection! The guy says Hendrix treated his LPs like shit, all scratched up and fingerprinted (!), and I think it's Highway 61 even has Hendrix's blood on it. Jimi broke a wine glass while playing the LP and dripped blood on the grooves. The collector guy refuses to clean the LPs, of course. Isn't that a nice story?

the crease looks pretty big it's more than "a corner" but if the contents are fine then it's no problem.
