Not a little Big Blackish. Very Big Blackish. In fact, at times, the vocals are IDENTICAL to Albini... " I got the fuck out."
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned them before on here and no one replied, so who knows.. It's odd, they seem to have followed a similiar career path as Bastro. One EP of drum machine Big Black-ish songs then two full-length dirty albums that no one really paid attention to with some amazing real drumming and great songs... I really love the first ep with the drum machine, either way, but I think Punishment Room is just really really amazing. "A classic album" as I would say. |

The first EP is like a carbon copy of Big Black. Once they got a drummer, they were more like Rapeman or something. Hah. I'm pretty sure Albini prodcued all their albums.
Great band. |

Oh, that album sucks. Hahaha. I hate that album with all of my being, it's embarassing how many people have heard that one.
Definitely check out tease the skeleton, which you can easily find on archive.org and download in one rar or zip file. Thanks!!! |

To me they're a mix of Sonic Youth and Joy Division , and they bore me.
And there's an annoying , very long conversation on the phone at the end of one of their album , with two guys talking about the record , and one say that it's a great record, best drum sound in the world etc blabla. ( they're talking about their own record if I'm not mistaken ) |

bastro evolved into a more artful project, but when they first started, that first ep with the drum machine, it was pretty much big black round 2 also..
Also, never heard a JOY DIVISION influence in their music.. A few of the members went on to form this awesome band switchitter (there are two bands called that; it's the non-shitty one) which has some of the weirdest guitar lines I've ever heard, though the vocals sometimes bring the songs down, specifically the song that goes "1 2 3 oh yea i'm practically a girl" or something. Fuck dat noize. |
