Now that some of us have returned from family gatherings, let's all take a moment to trash our least favorite member, whether its the uncle who never grew up, the gun-nut cousin, the aunt who seems "a little off." You know what I mean.
It's hard to pick mine, but I guess I'll go with one of my aunts. She's so passive aggrevessive, which led to her asking: "Wouldn't you like to pass the yams?" If taken literally, that's probably the oddest question I've ever been asked. (No. I wouldn't. Ask me and I will. But I don't get together with my freinds every weekend and pass the yams.) |

my sister for sure
a very frustrating and loud person, for the sake of being loud if her mobile rings she will answer it at the table and talk loudly if she is laughing she will force out a real loud cackle she raises her kids like an idiot.

very racist great aunty. some people robbed my grandparents so she assumed it was aboriginals (but she called them "abbadabbas") and said something about them having their dirty black hands all over everything. and also that they can get in high windows because they are just like orangutans!

This thread has the potential to be a comedic goldmine. There is nothing quite like slagging off those who are closest to you.
I don’t have a particularly "least favorite/most annoying/ insane relative", as I hate them all equally, and happen to be hiding from all of them at this very moment. This Christmas has been quite uneventful for the most part, except for a few choice events. The best being, my Aunt telling my slightly alcoholic and overweight Uncle, that if he comes home a vegetable after undergoing his angioplasty surgery, which he's going for soon-ish, he will be going for a "push into the pool." |

I love my family. My wife's family, however, is full of crazies. I really don't know where to begin. But at least neither of us had to suffer exposure to our REALLY crazy relatives, just the annoying ones.

I don't hate any members of my family, but my grandmother (age 90) is a control freak.
Plus my other grandmother is developping alzheimers.

My brother's wife is suffering from schizophrenia. Her treatment makes her say nothing and look at people from the void. Before that, I had the feeling she was a very conventional person like her mum. In both cases I felt uncomfortable. Her mum sees me as an anomaly whenever I talk.
Got a cousin who dropped his wife for someone else. Made his wife say: "it's her or me", so he said/thought: "it's gonna be the new girl; but you made me choose, so if the kids don't feel good, it's not gonna be my fault". |

My meth head uncle that smashed the fuck out of our house when I was like 12 years old. We were home and he went on this mad twack attack after my dad fired his wife. It was pretty scary. He's the reason I was never a tweaker probably.

Difficult for me as well. Complicated. I used to love my sister-in-law. I think at one point early in my marriage I was actually infatuated with her. Now I have this love/hate feeling about her. She has a great sense of humor, she's smart. But she seems to have lost the humanity I loved about her. She's become very "corporate," for lack of a better word. She is all about technology and having the latest thing, her Lexus sedan is loaded, she's loaded (with money), she thinks I'm weird for collecting LPs, and she is so into NPR that she collects NPR podcasts and saves them. Her taste in music, which in the 70s verged on edgy, is now MOR adult-oriented blah blah blah. And she asks nothing about how my life or work is going. She's single and self-centered. I don't completely hate her, but after a day or two with her, I'm completely annoyed by her self-absorption. It was almost painful to hear her complain the other day about how my daughter's Golden Retriever pays attention to everyone but her. Um, there's your sign...
