I'm going to invest in a little recording equipment and I don't know what I need. I'm gonna get a compressor mic, and I want some sort of mixer too. What do I need in order to make some decent lo-fi recordings that I can also transfer on to my computer? I am a tech idiot, so I know nothing, but once I have the stuff, I usually good at figuring out how to use it.

awesome, I appreciate it.
I think I spelled that right. I used to record with a comp mic and a 4-track, which I loved, but getting from tape to mp3 is a little tough. Plus I want a good mixer to make some good noise.
