Started getting into it but there are a lot of genres and sub-genres to wade through.
I got some stuff like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Atari Teenage Riot, Stockhausen, Parmegiani and Photek that I enjoy a lot but I'm looking for more. So please recommend me some crucial albums or singles or compilations in any electronic genre, old & new. |

Get that anthology of electronic and noise music that features Sonic Youth. Perfect way to introduce you to the genre, though most of the music is quite old (back to the 1920's).
Other than that, it really depends on what types of electro you want, because they differ quite a bit. |

wtf, Im surprised no one has mentioned the chemical brothers yet, they've been releasing quality electronic music for decades. I never used to be a fan of this genre but after somehow hearing this it completely changed me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5NX1FC-7-w&ob=av2e.
I love how they blend psychedelic with electronic so well, wish there were more like them.

It's a bit of a big thing, isn't it?
But I'm going to put a plug in for a good friend of mine who's also recorded some of my stuff and we're (hopefully) doing a collaboration before the end of the year: http://soundcloud.com/skjolbrot More than just being a mate, I happen to think he's one of the best at it that's not very well known (yet).

Chemical Brothers have had a few good songs, but I think overall they fall into the "Fatboy Slim" category. Good for parties and weird videos, but not much else.

I didnt say that you have to supply a web site, but if you do, I might add it to the first post. Also, if you recommend a band, give reasons for it, and state what kind of genre they are.
