what's your relationship like with each of your parents?
mine: momma - as good as it can get. she's great and i'm a self confessed momma's boy. probably why i, er, 'bat for the other team'. love your mom, dudes! dad - stale. not great. he can't be bothered with his kids, and we can't be bothered with him. |

I love my mommy. She's the sweetest and classiest lady ever. She's a total ditz. Never a problem. Never an argument. It's all great. My stepdad is pretty wonderful as well.
I see my dad everyday. He's very generous and brilliant, but vengeful and mean spirited. We mostly get along great, but sometimes he likes to work me over and upset me intentionally. He can upset me like no one else. |

My parents are pretty cool. They come to my shows and stuff because they are into it, and not out of a misplaced sense of "obligation" that turns the whole thing into an endurance trial. They're very encouraging and supportive people, and we see eye-to-eye on a lot of important things.
We get along very well; I haven't actually argued with them over much of anything at all for at least a dozen years or more. |

Neat thread idea.
Mom - very concerned and caring person, but wants to 'hang on' to me even though I'm getting older. We get along great Stepdad - not so well. Feels the need to be dominant and doesn't give reason to his decisions. Left-brain dominant construction site superintendant and doesn't appreciate art like I do

they live 7000 miles away from me, but we are very close. ,mo mom is insane and has the sickest sense of humor. with jokes like
me: (stubs toe) Fuck! mom: not right now, im busy. she was a nerd when she was little and didnt have much friends, so i think we turned her into a monster. i try to talk with her as often as i can. i am very close to my father too. in all my whole family is very supportive and seems to only care about e us following our own dreams and accomplishing as much as we can. its a pretty good envirnment to be in but i do miss them a lot. i have been on my own in the middle east (with an older brother in tel aviv) since age 19.

My mother is great. I haven't seen my father for two years now (except for a 2 minutes argument a year and a half ago)

both good, different from each other. my dad and i used to butt heads constantly but we've sorted out our differences and enjoy hanging out and discussing all manner of crap. my mom some times gets on my nerves, she's a little ADHD and it's hard to keep the thread of the conversation, but i love her of course.

I have a dead father too, but he died when I was three, so I really don't view my dad now as a "stepfather," since I have known him for 32 years and he has been a father in every sense.
My bio dad's family occasionally contacts me because my name is on the web from all the music stuff. Kinda weird; they're like a sort of "shadow family" that I have never really known (bio dad was sort of the black sheep and I didn't really have any contact with that part of my family aside from my Great Grandmother who died when I was 16). They seem nice enough, but they're kind of like friendly strangers to me since I didn't grow up with them at all... |

I get on with both my parents handsomely. My mother is a mental Irish lady who is literally the most generous host you'll ever meet. My Dad's a miserable, pugnacious, argumentative cunt (in the very nicest possible way) so we get on amazingly well (once I got over the teenage boy thing of hating my father because he was like me).

Wow, you're in your twenties and your parents let you do what you want?
Like you can put up that Marilyn Manson poster and they don't make you take it down? |
