Am I pathetic?

My boyfriend went out with his work tonight. He was supposed to be coming round here afterwards. It was getting a little late so I phoned him and it turns out he had to go home 'cause some of the people he was with got too drunk and one guy smashed his face in so he had to take them back to his.
He said he phoned me but I didn't hear it (despite being right by the phone).

But basically now I'm really upset and it sounds stupid and pathetic but I'm really paranoid and just feel like crap.

It is easy to worry, understandable that you should do so; I'd see it as no more or less than as sign that you care, which is no bad thing. If it were me I know I would ring him.

No, not really. It sucks when you are supposed to be meeting someone you like/love and it doesn't happen. And your mind inevitably starts coming up with reasons why they didn't show up and you get yourself worked up over what is usually nothing. Don't worry we've all been there I'm sure. (I know I have)

Ah, the old "some drunk guy bashed my face in, I'll be late" ploy, coupled with the "yeah, I phoned you, what do you mean you didn't hear it ring, there must be something wrong with the line or else I misdialed" trick.
