I know that shoegaze isn't goth, I'm just looking for something that might fall somewhere in between. With all of the musical experts here, something should come up.
And yes, that is my attempt at flattery.

Good call on both of these, rep for both (well an attempted rep for SYRFox, I must have repped you for something else, but I don't remember what...)

great recommendations! I'd also like to add Skywave - Synthstatic, its got some good melodies and some pretty gothy moments. And Ceremony - Dissapear, it has a similar vibe to Skywave but its really dark and its just between goth and shoegaze. |

curve is a bit too disco to be shoegazy or goth to be honest
have we all forgot the legendary cocteau twins????? cocteau twins- treasure (1984 4ad) or even this gem... this mortal coil- blood (1991 4ad) or even this beauty this mortal coil- filigree and shadow (1986 4ad) maybe not but still all gems of albums! |

thanks for those cocteau twins links man, big help!
i'd say Disintegration was way more shoegaze-y than anything else they've done. |

Slowdive, if you haven't heard them already. Just for a Day in particular has a lot of Cure/Cocteau-isms thrown in it.

I'd say Garland's is C Twin's most 'gothy' record...

I reccomended 'em recently, but RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY. They have a dark gothy sound but have layers of fuzzy shoegaze guitars.

I've always felt that Psychocandy and early My Bloody Valentine were kinda goth, but I don't know much.

Yes, definitely on the darker spectrum of shoegaze (and coincedentally probably my favorite shoegaze band besides slowdive.. who don't really sound like your typical shoegaze band anyway). |
