They're not rock bands, they're trees. Must we judge?

The first one reminds me of the Stanford mascot.

The first and fifth trees are particularly good looking. I bet they even know each other.

I saw a tree once, but it ran away before I could get a decent pic...

this is the major oak, according to legend robin hood used it as a hideout, but apparently the tree isn't old enough for that to be the legend to be true

Of note, I have a Kwanzan Cherry or Akebeno Cherry tree or somesuch in the front yard that blossoms purplish-pink twice a year. The slightly odd thing though is that a few other houses in the neighborhood have similar trees, but mine always flowers at least a week before theirs do.

While not a tree, I have a African violet I received as a gift, that is growing out of control.
Now, at first I thought it was a lame gift idea, but I've grown to like it quite a lot. I've never been able to keep plants alive, but this thing is outrageous. It's been nice lately, so I've got the windows open in the house, it sits on a window seal, and since its been getting fresh air all day long, and has almost doubled in size. |

Ah, thanks for that! Of relevance, and I've been meaning to hear some Anthony Braxton since reading the lengthy article about him in Wire. Slow moving, obviously. |
