How representative is the new Ramleh 10" of their sound generally?
http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/mp3...h%20Hitter.mp3 http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/mp3...nite%20Joy.mp3 If it's not representative of their sound generally, is there anything else of theirs that is similar to it? |

Try Blowhole from 1991. I'd say that's probably a bit more representative.

It's certainly very representative of their "rock" line-up - I like the 10-inch a lot. Their "power electronics" line-up may well make another appearance at some point.

Is Blowhole more rock or power electronics?
I like the "Loop in a dirty basement" sound of the 10", that's what I'd like to hear more of. |

If you can find the Sympathy For The Record Industry 7"s from the mid-90s, they have that sound. Also the 7" for "Pristine Womankind" that came out on that one label whose name I can't remember offhand. They always used thick, natural cardstock covers that are super nice.
I can hook you up with a Blowhole LP on the super-cheap from my workplace as well... |

Whoops! I thought you guys were talking about the band Blowhole.
The Ramleh "Blowhole" album totally has the sound you're looking for, and is one of my very favorites. |

All of the Ramleh 7-inch releases have been compiled onto the "Too Many Miles" compilation CD. There are copies still available at the Dirtier Promotions store: http://www.dirter.co.uk/shop.html
