Isn't it amazing that once a poll becomes public and you can see what choice people chose, everybody is afraid to come out publicly with their choice.

The sound like they've got on your tits - any band that riles someone up can only be a good thing. I don't usually listen to people's demos on principle of most demos being shit, but I'm going to listen to this one later...

We're waiting for you, the one demanding that people vote publicly, to vote yourself. It would be the decent thing to do. You vote, I'll vote. Deal?

Waiting for your vote, Hip Priest.
People should not be paying attention to what opinion I hold on this. This is just to help The Spectral Presence out. |

Cheers.
It wasn't about your opinion per se, it was more about someone (anyone, incidentally) demanding votes whilst refraining from voting themselves. I voted for 'none of the above', although I can see how they are a little influenced by the bands concerned. Some of the gentle strumming reminded me of The Jesus and MAry Chain's gentler moments.

There's a difference between being inspired/influenced and "sounding like". Sorry, but The Spectral Presence do not sound ANYTHING like Big Black. |

LOL! All those people who say they sounded like Big Black or Jesus and Mary Chain on the other thread are afraid to show their face. I guess credibility & integrity was compromised by truth.

I made this 2nd thread because I knew people here would have a struggle telling the truth publicly, which is why it's no surprise that someone either voted specifically on a choice to "prove a point" besides being honest, or they just didn't vote because they didn't want to show their face behind the vote. I am surprised though that more people didn't vote for Big Black, Joy Division, or The Pixies. I would've thought more people would vote for those bands just inspite of the poll or the person giving the poll.

the instrumentation sounds vagulely big black, not gritty and scratchy enough though. the vocals are not steve albini in the least.
i really dont like the vox much on the recordings but dig the songs themself much, on the videos the vocals sound muchhh better.
