I've been listening to samples of this album a lot lately and it's driving me crazy because I don't have any money right now to pick it up, so I was wondering if someone could upload it with ysi for me until I pick it up in its physical reality.

I don't have it either, but mostly because I hate the CD reissue. They took a great double album and added a lot of extraneous junk. If you can find a used copy of Bitches Brew on vinyl, that's all you need.

it is possible to get a cd the same as the original vinyl.
theres a special addition with all the extra stuff on, but still, its got the original album on there, and that what realy matters, right? |

i think you could find a used CD for cheap. i think i've even seen it on one of those "best value" collections. mp3 would be a waste because of poor sound quality. my copy is quite old, i don't know how it differs from the vinyl. -- for example: http://cgi.ebay.com/MILES-DAVIS-BITC...QQcmdZViewItem this guy is playing dumb but seems to have some nice LPs http://cgi.ebay.com/MILES-DAVIS-Bitc...QQcmdZViewItem |

Bitches Brew has some very cool stuff on it, but it is not one of my favorites. some of it drags on a bit. I miss the improvisation by the rhythm section. once they gathered up funk and rock musicians who were not versed in the constant supportive improvisation done by jazz rhythm sections, I feel that it loses too much.

First jazz album I heard, about a year ago, and I immediately fell in love with Davis.

I do have The Complete Bitches Brew 2-cd set though. Quite frankly, Bitches Brew is the album that, in many ways, brought about the end of hard bop and began jazz fusion, so I'm rather ambivalent about it. Miles' best stuff is with the second quartet...Hancock, Carter & Williams. The first quintet with Coltrane, Garland, Chambers & Philly Jo Jones is good too. |
