No order, except Butcher was stand out by a long margin:
John Butcher Dave Collett Trio Thought Forms the week before Supernormal Gnod (Bristol) Faust (Supernormal) Arditti quartet (especially the Dusapin and Schnittke) (Bath) An Irish session I found unexpectedly The guy who plays the kora on the streets. Piecaitis (Bristol) (Also, here) Fresh Milk, quite a few times (Bristol) Spiderkitten/ Merciless Precision (Bristol) Slab (Bristol) Hmm. I'm sure there have been more than that. Edit: Little Creature, Skjolbat, Non-Ferric Memories, Joined by Wire - that was a great night. Edit 2: Don't know if it counts, but Dutty Ken DJed at some of the better nights of the year.

no "big" ones this year.
just were regularly in a bar/club where an open stage featured some of the strangest gigs Ive ever seen. from totally fucked up to overwhelmingly boring as an art form ?! unfortunately they closed that thing.

hey christoph! you know what? after my last weeks gig, Phillip Quehenberger came to me (I see him often on gigs in Bratislava) and told me I had a good sound and asked me if I wanted to play a gig in Vienna some time in the future. He said he can manage that. How cool is that?

Gnod Ashtray Navigations Charles Hayward Eat Skull Grass Widow Blues Control - First time I saw them the year before the sound was better. US Girls - the one earlier this year. She was pretty drunk last time and kept on pressing the wrong buttons. Still a fun gig though. |
