I'm not too worried. If it were anything other than the Goo tee it'd be rubbish, but that's such a gorgeous pic I can't be bothered to care. I've seen one of the Sugababes in said tee... possibly Mutya.
Oh, hi there irrelevant post, long time no see.

Well you don't need a permit or official fan license to wear Sonic Youth shirts. He might just like the Goo cover, which is indeed pretty great.
But I agree that it's a bit silly when people wear band shirts purely as a fashion statement or whatever though. A friend once said something clever in a club about the VU shirt some dude was wearing and then the dude replied "I don't really know them; I just liked the shirt." End of conversation. Oh, hi there glice. |

Its the sudden respect Sarramkrop! When you are wearing a SY or VU tshirt particularly at a club or some music affiliated place people have more respect for you, more people talk to you and more people have time for you (I had my Experimental, Jet set shirt on in a club one night..never again). Its extremely sad I know! Talk to them for 5mins they always get caught out.
I know everyone thinks it probebly because the said person just likes the picture but thats very unlikely...its probebly just some dumb attempt to look 'Cool'

Back in the 90's an uncle saw me in my Washing Machine shirt and said the name Sonic Youth sounded like they're a christian rock band. My uncle's not very "cool" though. |

The only purpose they serve as I can see is attracting the attention of like minded people. But this never happens in my experience they usually dig 'Dirty boots' and think they are the coolest thing since Iggy Pop took a dump.
That reminds me I was at a My Chemical Romance gig (yes, yes, yes...the first 2 albums rock I don't care what you say) and some guy said to me "I'm too cool for this gig really...I'M A BLEEDING THROUGH fan". And i'm thinking like dude we're at a MCR gig we both left the right to be called 'cool' at the door when we bought these tickets.

A mate of mine once called me a wanker for wearing an Einsturzende Neubauten T-shirt.
Wait a minute, he was talking about the shirt, wasn't he?...

I saw a girl at school a few months ago wearing a SY shirt and i was wearing the same one so i asked her if she liked them and she didn't even know that it was a band. I guess that's what they get for selling SY shirts at Urban Outfitters.

MCR are awesome. I think people don't like them because, unlike most ugly gobshites with guitars, they can actually write a chorus and that Gerard chap is a handsome fucker. Oh, and actual girls like them as well.

I remember buying a Cramps shirt as a kid long before hearing their music. I was really into comics and horror films and stuff like that and just thought it was a drawing of some cartoon zombie gang or something.

well porkie what can i say, the world is coming to an end and our very way of life is threatened at the core. i am burning all my sonic youth shirts immediately, or better yet, giving them to goodwill (an american charity shop) so that some unschooled pauper gets to wear them in the supermarket parking lot he inhabits while i confine myself to an exclusive attire of fake fur tshirts devoid of any logos or propaganda. thurston on the other hand must be laughing his way to the bank as we speak... |

i use to wear a Bad Religion shirt but it was because i liked what was on it. I didnt like the band or anything, and most people around here had no idea. I loved the old peoples reactions to it.
