last night i was watching VELVET GOLDMINE and Curt Wild's (E.McGregor) band was called the rats or something like that...
i was searching on the web about the soundtrack and i found that Wylde Ratttz was a band with Thurston, Steve, Mark Arm (Mudhoney), Don Fleming. the song they recorded for the soundtrack (stooges' TV Eye) is the only song they ever recorded? |

Backbeat line up was Greg Dulli, Don Fleming, Dave Grohl, Mike Mills, Thurston Moore and Dave Pirner sang few songs too. they recorded soundtrack to the Backbeat movie, it includes 12 tracks. they also released single "Money" that includes two songs these can't be found from "the Backbeat " soundtrack....

I have the Dim Stars CD. Maybe the Wylde Ratz as well. Both were actually a disappointment. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Wylde Ratz was one of the pre-reunion Stooges reunion band? Similar to Asheton/Mascis/Watt....

You're welcome. I'm always glad to reciprocate. I'm pretty sure i obtained this from atari 2600 a long while ago. I've never seen it around in .flac format. Their version of "T.V. Eye" can be found on the soundtrack to "Velvet Goldmine" and also on "School Of Rock".

I don't think this stuff was ever officially released on disc or vinyl, was it?

Correct me if i'm wrong... on PROMO copies, vocals were released untouched, but on the regular version the Ewan McGregor vocals were added?

No. Most of it can be found online, though. The version of TV Eye with Mark Arm on vocals is phenomenal. Would love to own everything they recorded on wax.
