Movies where animals attack and kill humans aren't generally of the best kind, maybe because the plot often isn't that complex and special effects can prove to be a bit tricky to make them look like truly believable scenarios. I still enjoy this genre enough (am I correct in calling it a genre? Or should films like these simply be referred to as disaster movies?), at least for pure entertainment meant to fill the gaps on Sunday afternoons when you can't think of any other films to watch.
Some favourites: Jaws and Jaws 2 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073195/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077766/ Ben http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068264/ Wild Beasts http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090322/ Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077429/ A ridiculous movie which I can’t help loving. The final scenes where the satanic beast turns into a giant, cartoonish projection are often regarded as terrible filmmaking. I have bad taste, therefore they work fine for me. Shakma http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100589/ Cheeky monkey! Youse lot? |

I was tempted to put Cujo but it's one film in a long line of terrible films made out of good Stephen King books.

Cujo is a good call! Honestly, you can't get much worse than Devil Dog when it comes to canine evil on celluloid, and I still find that one an enjoyable movie. |

I'm sure demonrail will have a lot more to say on the subject but I'll leave you with an example of a sub genre of your killer animals genre: the films that contain a scene where animals kill genre:

Mentions of famous bitches that make an appearance in movies not really based on the subject of this thread are more than welcome too. |

godzilla and the best of them all even though it has nothing but nothing to do with disaster or the animals doing the killing but this thread reminded me of it: watch this. watch it. but watch it. |

I have not seen a single film mentioned in this thread, mostly because despite the evil of the animal in question, I cannot stand to see the offending animal harmed by the humans.
I am a diehard Stephen King fan (as I've mentioned before, and if you want to start with me on that, BRING IT FUCKERS), have read every single book of his, and refuse to this day to read Cujo. |

Do NOT start with that one. I know it's cliche, but start with "The Shining" if you're into the horror thing (I fucking LOVE horror). Really though, his prose is amazing in all of his novels, you can't really strike out (except with some of the Bachman novels).
