starting out to a certian degree.
most of the stuff i can find is not what im after and i can only find a few trax i like. i like the stush track called dollar sign. ive gotten soo into about 3 lady sov trax (ch ching, little bit of shhh, and especialy the battle) but find most her other stuff too cheesey. at least the music and production on them are not my cup of tea. bit of dizzeee. most of the other stuff ive searched for just aint floatin my boat. ive looked up the other mcs from the battle (zuz, frosty p, shystie) but they blokes are more bad hip hop and shystie isnt quite raw enough for me. anyone any recommendations? specialy interested in female mcs. |

I don't think Aesop really qualifies as grime.

check out the DJ Target's Aim High mixtapes (they're actually CDs not tapes!), volume 1 isn't so good, but volume 2 and 3 are fantastic, volume 2 being the best grime mixtape i've heard. to be honest there aren't that many female MCs, there are a couple whose names i can't remember, but the reason i can't remember their names is because they don't do very much.
anyway, the best way to listen to grime is to listen to the pirate radio stuff, so tune into rinse.fm (they have webstreams) they play grim in the evenings most days. also look at these websites to download old radio sets and mixes http://www.barefiles.com/ http://oldgrimemixtapes.blogspot.com/ http://hosted.filefront.com/adamantiummusic |

There's a fair bit of decent stuff out there. Wiley can be good but only on occasions, etc. Generally you'll be sorting through lots of mediocrity to find the pearls. Same as with UK (speed - remember that term, lol?) Garage.
