last night, at a rest stop, on a dark west Texas highway, I found death and added him to speed-dial (which was useful in jinxing two speeders who apparently didn't know that it was night time).
a true Texas story of death, the highway, magick and speed. ps: if you couldn't tell, Death uses a shitty AZN ripoff of the iPhone, which despite being made at a forced labor factory in Guangdong Province, The People's Republic of China, it actually drops less calls and does not try to auto-correct Guangdong into something else.... |

this photo of a painting at my aunt's house was done by a murderer of the woman he murdered. he gave it to her mother, who for obvious reasons, didn't want it and gave it to my aunt.
a true story of art, prison and death. |

Of course, our friend pbradley isn't doing it as an ironic joke, he obviously enjoys the intricacies of Mars Volta blather. I mean, a profile on the biggest Mars Volta forum on the web? Oh my!:

Wow, forever ago.
But, yeah, I like Tremulent EP and some of De-loused in the Comatorium. Didn't stay on that board long after I listened to more At the Drive-In. Also, I first heard about Unwound on the forum. No lie. I also used to post on the Flaming Lips message board. I don't listen to anything by them anymore, which I can't say the same for TMV. I still think Cedric's lyrics are funny, though. I never took them seriously. |

When I was a messenger in Boston I came around the corner of a worksite and there was a construction worker who had obviously just fallen from a hieght and landed in such a way that his head and body landed on different levels and his neck snapped...but he was just laying there...a guy in a suit with a clipboard came over with a construction guy and he noted something on his clipboard then walked away. No police, no ambulance, no coworkers, no onlookers. the guy is just laying next the sidewalk dead.
Once saw a dead homeless person in Civic Center while walking to work in San Francisco one morning... |

I worked as a porter in a hospital and had to take the dead bodies to the morgue.

True Stories of Death? As in Ink Cartridge funerals? And marble caps lock zip code affiliates?
I used to listen to them when I was 16, and still find them alright. ATDI has some fun songs, but not something I play regularly |

Friend of mine fell out of a bus, falling flat on his face on the pavement. He was blind drunk at the time. The bus driver didn't give a shit. He just drove off, leaving him in a heap on the pavement! My friend could've been dead!

could've doesn't count!
at least, not in this thread. in high school, I had a friend who's car was broken down, and so was forced to ride his bike to school. as the bus with his little sister in it passed on his left, he took his hands of the handlebars and waved at her. the bus turned right. he didn't. his sister, who was waving back, saw it all. |

In Jr. high this skater who was a few years older than me and my skater friends (we'd skate together now and then and he'd teach us tricks) started dealing coke.
Deal went bad once at a trailer park and this guy shot him in the head and killed him, with a fucking shotgun. I believe it was to the back of the head too. Cowardly, sad shit. ~~ Also, the same year, some highschool kid was racing his motorcycle on the bypass at night, lost control and flipped over the median landing on the other side of the highway. He was ok, until a car that didnt see him until it was too late ran over his head. ~~ This one kid, who I didnt know very well (noone seemed to know him well) died our sophomore year of highschool. He apparently got beaten to death/tortured by his step dad...it was real fucked up. Was a scandal, the step dad lied and said bullies did it at first, until authorities figured out it was the stepdad. ~~ After graduation of highschool (few weeks later) one of my good friends who was on the school paper with me (i drew) was on a roadtrip to New York with 4 friends, including another buddy of ours from the paper. Reached for his wallet approaching a toll road and they lost control of the car, killing him and another guy. Our mutual friend from the paper survived and I saw him at a few college parties but then just kind of lost touch. It was weird. ~~ Last year my best friend since 2nd grade was thrown in jail. He had gotten into heroin over the past few years. Apparently a year or two ago him and this girl he just met were doing heroin together and she od'd. He was super high, and kind of stupid, and tried to inject her with coke instead of calling the ambulance. She got worse, he called the ambulance but it was too late and she died. After a long trial, and coming clean and being off heroin for almost 2 years...he was sentenced to 20 years in jail. Parole in 10. Really shitty situation, but at least he wasnt still a junky when he went to prison. I've only written him one letter. ~~ Apparently, one of the drug dealers he used to buy from shot a mexican drug dealer in the head in front of him once. Related story I guess. Heroin and Atlanta are fucked up. Those are all the death stories I can think of at the moment. |

An older high school friend of mine committed suicide in an intentional car crash. He didn't hit anyone, just drove headlong into a concrete wall at high speed. I have no clue why.
