the cover of Harmacy is actually a Pharmacy in a little town very near where i live in Ireland called Cashel, i got my photo taken outside it but they now have the "p" in place. what other albums are good by them? what should i buy next?

Weed Forestin (1990) ultra lo-fi Barlow home tapes feat. Brand New Love, a song Lee covers on Broken Circle
The Freed Weed (1990) a double album smorgasbord III, Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock & Bubble & Scrape are all ones that you may get recommendations for, but I'm just pointing you to those 1990 ones first because I happen to like them most. |

I am constantly pissed off the the sebadoh III reissue keeps getting pushed back. I was expecting back in march, april, may... now I have to wait for the end of july.
I everything they've done, but after bakesale things are kinda shakey. The freed weed is one my favorite late nite listens. I wish i could score a copy of the freed man to hear the tracks not on weed.

I too love Sebadoh. A really awesome band. I love Lou. He seems like a cool dude. Btw, does anybody know how to properly pronounce tha band's name? Is is Seh-buh-doe, Seh-BAD-o, Seh-BAY-doe, what? I think it's Sehbadoh. BUt my friend pronounces it as Sabadoh, with an "a". I think he's way off.

Smash your head was my first Sebadoh experience, and III is the album that I started appreciating later in life. Still, I've gotta put Harmacy at the top too. Very few albums play from beginning to end as perfectly as that one does.

Of course there's love for those albums, hoss! I didn't think it required mentioning, obvious as it should be. Shit man, you think we're all a bunch of high schoolers, picking up our first copies of Bakesale 20 years late? |

I HATE early Sebadoh. It's Lou recording any idea, no matter how fully realized, coupled with terrible lyrics. Lou said he was smoking a lot of pot at the time and nothing made sense to him, and it shows. I think Gaffney was extremely overrated in the grand scheme of things.
Once they got to Bubble and Scrape though, those fuckers knew how to rock. Bakesale is still my favorite due to sentimental reasons, personally. Harmacy is half of a really, really good album but has a lot of random songs that go nowhere (Kind of feels like them trying to do a Wowee Zowee type thing but not really succeeding). I think The Sebadoh is pretty underrated and gets a bad reputation; Sorry and Love is Stronger are two of my favorite Lou songs.
