I'm not sure which one I want. I like the look anbd style of the zune but I like how the new Ipod holds 80GB. And Im pretty sure that soon I'll be able to fill up the zune. I just don't like how the Ipod costs an extra 100$ and how it scratches easily. Which is truely better?

I have not yet tried the zune, and I'm not the biggest fan of the ipod either because they're so easy to break. The only reason I'm getting one is because it's very compatible with MAC OS.
I'd go with the ipod myself, but make sure to buy screen protectors and a skin case. Sometimes you can get both together in a package.

Definently go with the 80GB Ipod, it has a longer battery life than the 30GB (20 hours vs 14). I love my 80GB one, mainly because I have yet to fill it up, I'm right at 38.5 GB at the moment.

I saw an Ipod at the pawnshop the other day along with a zune. Can't remember how large the Ipod was though. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, I plan to get an 80 gb soon, despite the terrible cost. I have 25gb of music, and that was acquired in a little over a year, and my brother has twice as much which I can always take. It can get a pain when swapping CD's in a bus, even if they are MP3 discs.

Tomorrow at Toys R Us, limited edition pink Zunes are apparently being blown out for a whopping $12.99.
My dad heard about it and bought 3 the other day, and is planning to go back tomorrow and get a price adjustment.

I had an Ipod replaced 4 times during the two years it was under warrenty. Those things fucked up like nothing else. I used it pretty much constantly, but it is dead for good now, and I'm not paying to fix it. Burnt (and real, of course) cds now on a 12 dollar cd player. Way better investment.

From what I read when it was coming out the Zune is a DRM friendly piece of shit. Of course I have a pretty hefty anti-Microsoft bias, but I didn't write the articles. The wireless features sound so groovy until you realize if you send something to a friend with another Zune (as if you'd ever find one!) it will only last for a few days.
iPods are only DRM friendly if you buy music from iTunes, which I've never done for that very reason (though EMI apparently now offers you the chance to pay more to have music without lame copy protection via iTunes.) |
