40 today!
Is there been any album since that has been so important in terms of widespread influence? PS - I brought you a present: Within You Without You |

Like Lennon reminded, Pepper was Paul's affair mainly. Still a brilliant album though, one of the very best.
My thread was gonna say "It was 40 years ago today." I listened to Sgt. Pepper's and a Little More today and was thinking I'd share its two discs of rarities, but then I remembered that this board would be the wrong place to do so. |

I know there are all sorts of bootlegs out there with things like 50 takes of Lucy in the Sky, but is there any bootleg that anyone would recommend that has one "demo" version of each song, before the studio trickery?

That's what Iwas originally planning on (making just such a compilation), then, as this date drew nigh, I decided to just up the "sgt pepper's & a little more" 2-cd set; and then, all that degenerated into posting links for other (lesser) boots from a blog (see post above). note: there are no bootlegs that have multiple versions of Lucy. They don't exist. Some exist that have a couple on it, but most of them have mult. vers. of other songs, not that one. notes for the fuck of it: There's a "Lost Pepperland Reel" with 9 tracks (some versions have extras added on from 1968 that aren't properly Pepper outtakes) |
