All the way from the grimy bars of texas it's THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS.
Yes, you heard me right, THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS have decided to jump in on the reunion wave of alt rock bands. Better yet they will be touring this summer and writing a new record. For these shows, Jeff Pinkus will be on bass and Teresa Taylor (along with King Coffey) on drums. This is the rhythm section the band had for most of the 80s and marks the first time this line up has played together since 1989. Paul Leary has prior commitments and unfortunately can't play the European dates (he will be on stage for the New York City show and possibly more stateside). Joining the band onstage for all shows in the US and Europe will be The Paul Green School of Rock All-Stars. This mob of teenage geniuses will blow your mind, forming a virtual Butthole Surfers Orchestra when they play with Gibby and crew. June 24 - Asbury Park, NJ - Asbury Lanes June 26 - Washington, DC - 9:30 Club June 27 - Philadelphia, PA - Electric Factory (w/ Sound of Urchin) - get tickets here (part of the Paul Green School of Rock Music Festival - 3 day passes w/ Devo and more available.) July 4 - Glasgow, UK - ABC1 - get tickets here July 5 - Manchester, UK - Academy 2 - get tickets here July 6 - Wolverhampton, UK - Wulfrun Hall - get tickets here July 26 - London, UK - Kentish Town Forum - get tickets here July 29 - New York City - Webster Hall - I'm excited but I got to convince my friend to drive all the way out to new york to go see them.I never expected this band to reunite. Fuck this summer concert season is one of the best in my lifetime.

Looks pretty crazy, which is deffinitely one of the things to anticipate about a BS show, but I hope they can still kick out songs effectively.

more friggin nostalgia for the crowd pleasers from the ex crackhead crew. safe and saleable. I'll pass on the inevitable DVD co-release.
