or at least until I can make some space.
Squier Telecaster Custom. Black on black with maple neck with rosewood skunk stripe, humbucker's and all. Basically, a Squier Tele Deluxe. It came with a hard-case

It plays a dream.
The action is super low and the pickups sound great. The only drawback is the case smells like ganja.

Dahyum! Hope it's more durable than the standard squier models.

It seems to be. I have a Squier Affinity Tele as well. It's held up well, the only problem is that the neck pickup went belly-up about a year ago and I had to have it replaced (it didn't cost me anything, the guy did it for free). The one I just got is also a bit lighter that my other Tele. I think the extra routing for the knobs, pickups, and switch account for this. The skunk stripe neck is a nice touch too.

My old squier strat's pick-ups got fickle and the pegs got buzzy. This after two or three years of use.
I ended up snapping it in two at a gig. It was pure catharsis on that p.o.s.'s ass. |

Mine still plays good. The body has seen better days, though.

You could say that. All I did was spraypaint my stock pickguard one day because I was tired of it being white.

Yeah, I've been thinking for a while to change the pickups in my Jazzmaster. The japanese pickups aren't great... Has anyone done this with any success? Which pickups did you use and how does it sound?

I've never done it myself (and I would experiment on a less valuable guitar first), but my post was in reference to Sonic Youth's so-called "JazzBlasters". info |

Fender Japan does or did make a Jazzblaster...I don't know how to navigate through those japanese sites, but maybe I'll try, they looked sick.

Yes, they sound far better. Novaks or Lollars are great too (but more expensive). |
