Favorite percussionists

Who are your favorite percussionists? Feel free to interpret the word as liberally as you like (no need to limit yourself to "drummers"). I'm particularly interested in percussion that stands alone well without accompaniment.

Moondog is one of my favorite musicians ever.

There's a guy who I saw playing with John Zorn a few years ago was fantastic. Also guys that I've seen play with Herbie Hancock and James Brown.

I've only ever seen him sat behind a drum kit in Masada, but I'm in no position to say that he's never done whatever it is that one does with a marimba.

Ah, I see what you are saying. Although the marimba is still a percussion instrument, it's not percussion in the way some people see percussion I guess.

I was going to say more, but I don't want to start the "what really is percussion" debate that would have been inevitable afterwards
