I guessed there would be atsonicpark recommending 361 obscure bands and batreleaser recommending 367203 even more obscure bands here, and I was right.
some things never change.

Get "Armory Radio" by Geoff Mullen. That's my pick for today.

no, but they did list non obscure shit like flipper, wesley willis, the residents etc. but maybe it does, because if something weird wasn't obscure then wouldn't people get used to it and not think it's weird? there are cases of albums being widely known and definitely weird, like trout mask replica, but i don't think it's that common just thinking out loud.... |

Based on the obscurity test, Ghédalia Tazartès may be disallowed, but that's my contribution anyway. I don't care. His stuff is very wierd to my ears.

Get Halve Maen by Double Leopards. Easily the best album of the decade for me.
Three other bands I would highly recommand checking out: Mouthus Yellow Swans Wzt Hearts |

I've been listening to tons of C. Spencer Yeh & John Wiese, especially Cincinnati
In the same vein I also really like Sissy Spacek French Record |

yeah, true. but honestly, some of you guys tend to be so bitchy. just becuse you dont know any of the bands you think were trying to act superior. if you dont care, then dont care, but maybe you could listen to some and you might even like it. i mean, sure, scott walker's "tilt" is one of the wierdest and darkest records ive ever heard, but i doubt thats trasher02 was looking for.
i like the french record too. im not a big wiese fan, some of his stuff like "soft punk" is rad, but the spacek stuff gets mightily annoying. the cutups and shit on the french record were just insane though.
