i don't think they have been mentioned on this board. over the james is one of the best punk rock records to come out in the 90's, i think. i like how they take a bunch of influences and mix them all up to make it their own unique sound. i remember when i first heard hot water music, i thought they sounded like fugazi, but then after a bit i was like, "no, this sounds like avail!" a lot of good florida punk bands put their avail influence on their sleeve. that doesn't matter, but avail are great.
oh, and i know hot water music suck now, but back in their prime they were amazing. especially when they played live. that band is just pure nostalgia for me now. |

i can see the influence hwm got from gorilla biscuits but they sound way different. hwm has a more of a richmond punk sound with a dash of less experimental fugazi thrown in.
