I've watched few anime movies. Akira (classic) among others. But, I just recently saw "Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence", & I was blown away.
It has a great visual look, & the storyline is excellent. The way they bring up philosophical language is amazing to me. I haven't seen the first Ghost In The Shell, but I'm very eager to learn what happened before this story took place. Discuss

lol. I rented it probably when I was 15 and then saw the naked chick. I just didn't feel comfortable watching that with my mom in the other room. I thought it might get more intense.
So now I don't want the Ghost in the Shell TV show because I wouldn't understand it because I never saw the movie. I'm not into Anime too much, but Akira is a good watch, and I think that Cowboy Bepop is a really well done cartoon. |

I think Ghost In The Shell 2 is definetly something you should at least check out. But you're right, it's hard to follow w/ out knowing the full story.
I don't even know the whole story.

I've seen the original GITS film and most of Stand Alone Complex(which are both incredible), but somehow i haven't seen Innocence yet. I was gonna see at a theater in Kentucky when it came out but no one would take me.

I really enjoyed the first one; have yet to check out the new one.
I have watched a LOT of these kinds of movies, and enjoy a lot of them. |

i remember renting ghost in the shell when i was 12 of 13 and enjoying the visuals more than anything else. i tried watching "stand alone complex" a few times, but i was usually inebriated and really lost, so i don't really care for it.
samurai champloo, on the other hand, is the most awesomest thing ever.
