I used to run ten miles twice a week, and occasionaly I'd take a wrong turn and end up doing a half marathon. Never went any further than that though.
Unfortunately I injured a muscle in my lower leg and couldn't run for over a ayear, and I got fat during that time and have never got my fitness back. |

I walk for an average of 18 hours a week. I love walking, plus I need to shed the pounds.

I grew up in NYC where I would walk an average of 3-5 miles a day during the weekends. I miss that so much. I was in much better shape. When I moved to Baltimore I stopped walking around as much. It gets too sketchy (and not the good type of sketch) after dark here and I don't like walking around while trying to beat the clock.

I walk at least four miles a day and at most eight. Being from NYC, I'm too used to walking everywhere instead of using a car to get to some place that's within reasonable walking distance (to me, at least.) All of my Jersey friends think it's the weirdest thing ever.

The most I ever walked was about 27 miles in one day. I live 15 miles from Sears, where my girlfriend worked, and she was about to start school and I wanted to see her, but I still didn't have a car. I was 18 and bored and thought I could do something sweet for her and have a little adventure on my own so I walked all the way from here to her job, which took... fuck, maybe 7 hours! Then, I walked alllllllll the way back and got almost home, when my stepdad saw me and picked me up. He was pissed, and I said, "I'm 18! If I want to walk all the way to town and back, I can!" And he just kinda dropped it. I didn't tell the parents where I was going because they would've offered me a ride or something. Haha. And I didn't want a ride, man -- I wanted to WALK! My girlfriend didn't appreciate the gesture, but I did get plenty of "exercise" (I'm not totally convinced that walking is good "exercise" but I did break a sweat when I began sprinting... so, sure). Also, of course, my feet hurt for 3 days.

Walking is my main means of travel. Though last week I went on a 50+ mile bike ride.
