It's a recent Fender Custom Shop Deville Tweed 'Relic'.
2X12 60W and a hell of a lot louder than my Line 6's 60 watts claim to be. The whole relic thing is silly, but I got a massive deal on it from a friend. I haven't actually even paid for it yet. I get a renter's refund check in august that will pay it off. It kicks ass so far...but the control panel is backwards which is kind of disorenting. My current setup below. I just repainted the 'Stang and did a shitty job. It was unintentionally 'reliced' within a week. |

This amp is proving to be a mystery. I've asked around and it seems to not be a legit Custom Shop model, it may just be a standard model that got reliced. Someone said if the electronics are not wired point-to-point and there's a pc board, that it's not custom shop. It has a pc board so it must not be. It's still a kickass amp though. I'm still getting it for a good price.
The guy that it was purchased from on ebay claimed he worked for Fender and had it custom made. |

I really like yr pedal set up. Very nice. I also really dig yr Mustang. Yr music must sound really good with all that great equipment.

Thats because your line 6 is solid state (tube is always louder than solid state, or sounds louder), unless its some weird model that i havnt yet seen. I dont like like 6, but love Fender. I have two fender amps, both vintage and love them. Your deville is most likely an early 90s model. Fender just put out these tweed ones again last year, before they were just black and a few specials in for example, green. I played a gig with a deville a few months ago and was very nice. You should maybe think about replacing the tubes or rebiasing the amp before recording, it will do a great deal. Have fun with it and good luck recording.

We're gonna be recording ourselves, and I'm dead broke so retubing/rebiasing won't happen. I had an old Fender PS300 bass head (their answer to the svt in the late 70's) that I paid $300 for. When I had it retubed/rebiased, it cost me the price I paid for it. Then I got rid of it. That head weighed around 80 pounds! |

wow, you really got ripped of. Your old amp probably had more tubes, at least 4 power tubes which can double the cost. This deville i think has two 6L6 and three 12AX7. So around $15 for each power tube and $13 for each preamp tube. and rebiasing should not cost more than $20 for two power tubes. The preamps tubes dont have to be biased. Two months ago I bought a Fender Princeton reverb from 1976 and retubes and biased for $140CAN, and it has more tubes. One more preamp and one recifier. When you do retube, get E-H or sovtek. Anything but rebrand companies like groove tubes.

Yeah i probably did. It was a massive head. I had that and an Ampeg SVT cab for a little while, until I realized that was too much.
Someone was just telling me that you don't have to rebias when you replace your tubes or something. I honestly don't know much of the details about that stuff. I'm trying to learn. |

When you replace you preamp tubes you dont. But the power tubes you do because they can fail alot sooner. Biasing, put simply, makes them work together equaly. This also makes it sounds more balanced and in the end just plain better. The preamps last ALOT longer than power amp tubes.

It looks like it has a warm tone, like one of those Orange Amps.

I was going to get a 30-watt Orange for practice, for about £150. They're really good- the reverb is amazing.

I tried the Orange AD30 watt tube combo and it was nice. Real british crunch. I think it runs on EL84 so you can imagine thar overdrive sound. Im more into vox thought when it comes to EL84, or even marshall for that matter.

nice amp. i have a non custom 412 hot rod deville. i love it. i just retubed last fall since i bought it years ago and i put sovtek tubes in it. it gave it even more balls than it originally had. part of me wish i went with a head / amp set up, but for the money and sound i can't complain with going with a combo.
