any fans on the board?
Keep in mind, I haven't heard much of their stuff. I'm looking for a recommendation.

I was pretty into them for a while, but I've not listened to much lately. What I will say is that the Wipers boxset is great value, and contains every bit of their music that you need to hear.

Wipers were excellent. Greg Sage is one of the most underrated punk guitarists of all time. For him to be looked over as much as he is is a true shame. He should be mentioned more often.

Wipers are a great band. Get Their Record Is This Real first and then get Over The Edge.Greg Sage can write a really good song that will stick in your head with equally affecting lyrics.

its going to be quite a long time before i buy any music. at least, i think it might be. it all depends if
a) any thing good shows up at a chain store... b) something REALLY good shows up at the overpriced local store c) mommy decides to give me money i'm most likely (definately) going to get Emily Haines' solo cd though.. thats not too far in the future, right? can any one somehow upload some Wipers stuff?

I've "quit" too many times to count. It usually only lasts a day or two.
When the new board started up, I registered, but didn't post here for two weeks, & the last time I took a respite, I was gone for two weeks too. |

i'm digging that Wipers discography box.
I swear i HAD NEVER heard of these dudes before. I can really appreciate the fact that when this music was published / released, it was WAY ahead of its time. The gtr dude really explores the FX on the gtr with the steady rhythm section in the background. exciting. |
