... anyone interested in buying some silver/grey Prada trainers with tech-mesh uppers, bungee cord laces, and high-density silicon sole?
size 39 (US men's 7/women's 8 1/2) good condition, sole only slightly worn, comes with original grey nylon storage bag. originally $380... slightly worn. available here for $65 or best offer.

a most unusual thread
a few questions: a) what ever moved you to pay $380 for a pair of sneakers? i think of $380 and i think of liquor, lapdances and steak b) if they are in good shape, why won't you wear them? if they aren't in good shape, who'd want them? c) do you have toe fungus? --size 44 but curious |

And hate to tell you, not that you probably don't already know, but you just paid for the name. Those shoes are butt ugly.

a) bought these at the height of the tech bubble... my ex and i both had cushy high paying jobs, owned our cars out right, and were living rent free in a house her parents owned out right.... it didn't honestly seem extravagent at the time... in fact we bought a pair that was a little big on her and a little tight on me, but the mesh is stretchy enough they were still comfortable for both of us...
at any rate, now that i'm back in grad school and paying rent and working for professors for little or no money...i'm selling a bunch of stuff so i'm only in debt until i'm 60, and not 80... if liquor is more your speed, i'm also selling these two bottles of wine. the one on the right is a sauternes. imported and shipped by my father. cellared in central jersey, on it's side undisturbed since 1982. corks on previous bottles in excellent condition. compared well to a 1978 chateau roumieu over the holidays... $160 or best offer. the bottle on the left is a burgundy. it's a negotiant wine, but it is a old school style negotiant that my grandfather and my father both dealt with... and it's been laid down properly like the sauterne... can't find decent comparison bottle to price against, so i'll just say best offer... b) they are in good shape because my ex and i used them primarily as driving shoes... in fact for years we just kept them in the car, and who ever was driving would use them... since then, i generally only wear them inside. i'd honestly rather keep them, and i'd would rather drink those bottles than sell them... but i'd rather sell them than go any further into debt than i have to... c)no.

ahhhh...............
$380 for a pair of driving shoes. damn. anyway, yes, liquor is more my thing but i'm only recently out of grad school (2 years?) and i try to keep my wine purchases under $20. i'll splurge $30+ maybe for some cognac but i'm generally cost-conscious. let me again suggest ebay. fastest way to liquidate superfluous assets. kept us eating the first year after gradschool. what ever happened to saving for a rainy day? unfortunately during the tech boom i was on a student visa and couldn't get a yob :/ |

...yeah i'm planning on selling some vinyl and books on ebay... but some stuff, like the wine, i'd rather sell to someone on here who will appreciate it for less than i might make on ebay...

no... i'm not selling the whole thing. but i don't have the time to sort through and point out the few things i would never sell... so i'm just doing this on a case by case basis... i've already sold two books to friends and neighbors. you see anything interesting... i'll tell you if it's for sale, and for how much.
