i remember i saw some footage of springsteen live in the seventies and dude was jumping and playing all these scrap noise solos and going nuts for the most part, i thought that was cool.

but most of his music is boring and dumb. for the last 15 years he's tried to be dylan, that sucks.

Love his stuff. Albums like The River and Darkness get mucho play on my stereo. Although I can see why people might not like him - the earnestness, etc. He's definitely not gonna suit everyone. That said I do get a little bored when people seem to just hate him for the sake of it. I tend to side with Joe Strummer's line - and I can't STAND Joe Strummer.
