Saw them yesterday at Rock Herk. They're good but after a while it kinda starts dragging for me.

I've seen them, uh, yesterday, no, the day before yesterday. I was impressed.

Aaaahhh they came to Ottawa like, 3 weeks ago. It was fucking 19+. I hate being under age of majority and having the musical interest that I do.

They're pretty good, kind of a mix between mogwai and explosions in the sky. Some of it is a bit over the top tho.

Haven't listened to Mono before.
But if I may use this oppurtunity to ask if anyone as heard of a Japanese rock band named Yura Yura Teko....ahh, something or other? My sister recently saw them in NY and said they were pretty generic, but still really good. Opinions? |

Yura Yura Teikoku
Never heard of them but listening to them now. It is generic, little bit like Dinosaur Jr., I guess, but actually really good. I'm digging them. I have to say, though, that Japanese pop sensation B'z is the most kickass pop-rock band in existence. They're sort of in the vein of Aerosmith, who I'm not too fond of, but they have a really good punk side to them, and they're known to play anything from blues to traditional Japanese-esque music. The guitarist, Tak Matsumoto, is phenominal. http://youtube.com/watch?v=oe8g44IAeqk&search=b%27z http://youtube.com/watch?v=Igta7CgaB...=b%27z%20juice |

Excellent band. I saw them supporting Einstuerzende Neubauten a couple of years ago and they blew my mind. It had been years since I'd seen anything so powerful and hypnotic.

I was more in the back. I hadn't seen you as I would recognize you as seen on pix here. I was actually there to shoot Animal Collective, but don't get me started on them. It is AFTER ALL a Mono thread. |

Too bad they stopped playing after ten minutes.
The flames behind the cold mountain was a super song to begin the show with!

I LOVED them when I first heard them, but now I can only listen to them once in a while or I get burnt out quickly. But my wife really likes them so I still hear them a lot.

I glazed that and thought for a second you called my wife a dog. But I re-read it, and all is well.

No, not Mono. Not for me. The only concert ever in my life that I left before it was finished.
