lester used to describe the seeds, ? mark, the count five, etc. as punk. when in '76, people started to ask him for quotes about the new genre punk, he thought they were referring to garage bands of the 60's.

Well, they aren't and that's because Allen Klein refuses to give permission to reissue any of the original recordings and refused '96 Tears' to be included on the Nuggets compilations or the box set. Still, they remain one of those bands that easily should be on them.

I'd say the Sonics from seattle were the first punk like band, way more so than question mark.

The Sonics were actually from Tacoma, not Seattle.

It's sad that ?'s house burned down. All his pets died.

didn't the record company get pissed and make them change it to 96 tears because they thought they meant 69 as in oral sex?
