Yeah. Her sophomore album is even called "Little Electric Chicken Heart" (in English, this time). I think you'll enjoy it - both of them, actually. It has those sweet classic MPB and Bossa Nova nods in there, but updated for a new generation. Her last album (the cat one) also has strong Dance, Funk and Disco influences as well. It's an incredibly well-produced blend. I highly recommend it

Black Country, New Road - Forever Howlong

Lovely. Far removed from their noisier first outing and not quite as immediately accessible as "Ants From Up There", but it is its own beast, altogether. Far more leaning into the folky and Baroque Pop influences, it continues on the path they first treaded with their live material that culminated in the sublime "Live At Bush Hall". The arrangement is as lush as ever and Taylor Hyde, Georia Ellery and May Kershaw are phenomenal vocalists. Excited to continue observing the evolution of their sound.

It is quite impressive how boring this band are. They have spedrun to the whimsical-bullshit stage of their career in a fraction of the time it took PH Harvey to achieve the same feat. Commendable.

To me they sound a bit like Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, The Beta Band and Super Furry Animals with Trisha Keenan from Broadcast or Sister Irene O'Connor on vocals. They have some nice moments, but they need to fuck off with the medieval harpsichord solos.

to my ears, this is the most clumsy development trajectory that I've ever seen a band take. from the promising beginnings ("Sunglasses" and majority of their debut album) through personal changes to this baroque pop pretentious drivel. I tried listening to it, but it had similar effect on me as the infamous Hungarian Suicide Song, so I rather went outside and looked at the trees, which I found way more entertaining. (mind, I'm allergic)

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but they are very much doing their own thing. And they don't owe their former fans or early supporters anything. The shift was polarizing. I welcome it. Isaac had his own, very distinct voice. Continuing or attempting to continue on that route without him would have come off as disingenuous. Instead, they took a different approach. In my opinion, that's both bold and respectful of what Isaac brought to the table. And I think they stuck the landing. The musical craftmanship is still there in spades, there's still pretty damn good songwriting - the style is just different. And it's okay to not like it - the voice (not just the physical voice, also the proverbial voice) is a different one - or rather are different ones - now. And that will put some people off. But I've come to really appreciate them.
